INTERNATIONAL ART QUILTS, DISPLAY IN GABORONE
Artists from Botswana and United States display fabric art.
Opening Thursday November 12th, for 10 days,
at Botswanacraft Gallery,
the second annual display of art quilts from Botswana and United States of America.
Distinguished fabric artist Cindy Friedman of Fiber Revolution, a group of professional textile artists promoting Fiber Arts, collaborates with local fabric artist and entrepreneur Jenny Healy of Kalahari Quilts. The well-known ethnic dolls of Tebogo Puni Mosinyi give an additional dimension to this display. The two local artists unite international fabric techniques with Botswana themes to produce unique works of art.
New to the exhibition will be work of artists drawn in through LETSELA, a pilot project in which collaboration between Kalahari Quilts and Botswana Department of Arts and Culture will extend the scope of fabric arts in Botswana.

The suburb of Phakalane has a population of over 10,000 residents and we felt it necessary to put together an expo to celebrate the growth of this suburb.
Phakalane is a business destination, represented by all major industries that range from manufacturing, food, auto, entertainment, leisure, banking, education, restaurants, housing, private cemeteries but to name a few.
The purpose of this expo would be to show case the different products and services that are available within Phakalane and will offer an opportunity for networking, branding and purchasing with the various products and services. This will also give companies a chance to promote their Christmas specials. It is amazing the realization that Phakalane is an almost self sufficient suburb that can survive independently. With more developments proposed e.g. hospital, game sanctuary and a cinema one may never have to leave the suburb unless it is absolutely necessary.
Residents as well will be exposed to a wide range of exciting special offers, prize giveaways and Christmas savings.
The event will take the form of a family fun day making it accessible to the whole family. There will be jumping castles, face painting and water slides. New residents visiting the golf estate can go for a guided golf cart tour of the chalets and golf house. The venue will be complete with food stalls and entertainment.
