Rapunzel: A Fancy event

Jammed with smoke machines, swishing swords and crackling fires this fairy tale of the

young maiden with the long golden hair will have children of all ages clinging to their seats

and rolling in the aisles with laughter.

Earmarked for Pre- and Primary School Children, Rapunzel is the delightful tale of a young

maiden held hostage by the hairy Salamander. For 21 years she will ripen Rapunzel ready

for roasting but the clever Rapunzel has a very cunning plan - she will sing.

And she does. Terribly. In fact, it is so terrible..., so horribly off key...,that it draws the

attention of a handsome young price called..., Prince Boogie-Woogie.

Now the handsome Prince Boogie-Woogie falls in love with the captured Rapunzel and, as

history must have it, he climbs the towering-wall to rescue his love. But! The slobbering

Salamander has arrived. She sweats, snares and sneers!

And so, the slobbering Salamander and the handsome Prince Boogie-Woogie clash

swords. It ʼs whacky. Itʼs zany..., and itʼs a little crazy too. ʼs a titanic battle. Swords clash, Smoke pours, Rapunzel screeches and you Hiss  & Boo..., until..., until...

Rapunzel runs at the Maitisong Theatre on February 9th & 10th. Call 397 1809 for

bookings.

And we want you to dress up - all of you. Have some fun! The girls come as Rapunzel

and the boys as the handsome Prince Boogie-Woogie.

“Rapunzel! Rapunzel..., let down your golden hair, man”.
