diary of a nobody The Theatre of Honesty
What happens when seven characters enter into the space? Who are these bodies? …these no-bodies? Do we know them? Do they know each other? Why do they tell their stories? Can we believe them? Will we know what is real and what is a lie? What will they keep hidden? Do they know we are listening? Do they know what we see? What do their lives mean to us? What do they want to ask us? …………
Stories. Silence. Honesty. Lies. Attachments. Distance…these are the contradictions that play themselves out in diary of a nobody, a piece created by a cast of young, international actors. It is an exploration of the essence of theatre: What it is to enter a space and tell a story? It attempts to raise questions about the notion of honesty and how far we can trust ourselves (or anyone) to be completely honest. It draws on the experiences of eight very different individuals who have traveled from different countries and who have worked together to bring to life the worlds of seven different characters, each with their own stories to tell, and each with their own secrets to hide. It is the story of bodies…
…It is the story of ‘no-bodies’ trying to become ‘some-bodies’.
