BENEFIT CONCERT FOR MOONGA
If you did not see him perform at My African Dream Finale in 2009 you may have read about him in the papers! Moonga was the recipient of the Judges Choice Award, My African Dream 2009.
Mara Louw, internationally acclaimed singer, and judge for South African Idols performed with the winners at the Grand Finale. She brought Moonga forward on the stage and commented on his fantastic ability and stated that he should have voice training to ensure his exceptional talent is developed.
Subsequent to that, Moonga has been accepted at The Drakensburg Boys Choir with a subsidy being offered by the school. Many of you will know this is one of the worlds leading boys’ choir schools and a place at the school will, without doubt have an immeasurable influence on Moongas’ future.
His dream is to sing … and My African Dream is all about encouraging children not only to have dreams but to follow them…. And that is what Moonga is doing.
Many ideas were placed on the table as to how Moonga could raise the funds to pay for his tuition at the school and it was decided what better way than to do what he does best! So, on 28th April he will be hosting a concert to raise money to pay for his tuition and boarding at the school. Tickets are being sold for P200.00 each and are available from Maitisong.
Any support you can give this young man would go a long way to making a very huge difference in his life. It will also give others the courage to have and hold on their dreams.
If you are not able to attend the concert, any donations toward this cause would be greatly appreciated. Cheques can be made to My African Dream and will be kept in the trust fund for the purpose of being forwarded to the school.
Moonga’s initiative is fully endorsed and supported by My African Dream Trust and we sincerely wish him every success in his efforts to chase his dream.
