Mandy Promotions: Services and Achievements.
Mandy Promotions is a performing artists agent and performing arts guru specializing in the use of Culture and Performing arts especially theatrical drama as a communication tool. We specialize in script writing based on theme and research, production creation, producing and play directing. In a nutshell we a public education specialists. We specialize in the promotion and development of Setswana indigenous cultural forms with acting, drumming, poetry, cultural tourism, choreography; raging from contemporary, pantsula, kwasa-kwasa, gum-boot, and traditional dance. Music ranges from traditional, folk, choral to marabi etc, and expose such a wider world community with self pride and sustainable cultural identity. We use culture and performing arts to mobilize, organize, inform, empower, train, and educate members of community through artistic work. Aims and Objectives Ø To see performing arts growing, especially theatrical drama. Ø To assist the underprivileged/orphans performers, youth and talented artists to remember their heritage to become reality through artistic work, and to use and nature their talents for their survival and to help them always find solutions for their problems hence improving their way of living through performing arts. Ø To see performing arts being managed professionally, Batswana at large NGOs, government, prominent individuals and companies appreciating importance of theatre. Ø To facilitate the existence of knowledge and increasing skills such as communication skills and capacity building skills and exchanging ideas using theatrical drama. Ø To promote theatre in Botswana Mandy Promotions achievement: v NOTE: Mandy Promotions have Donated 10 full school uniforms to old Naledi underprivileged students, of Bokamoso C.J.S.S, Marulamantsi C.J.S.S, Tlogatloga C.J.S.S, Gaborone Senior School and Ledumang Senior School that were selected by Gaborone City Council through SNCD. On the 28th of February 2009 at Old Naledi Community Hall, and we will continue assisting other underprivileged students after raising some funds through Welcome to Botswana. v Putting together Welcome to Botswana cultural tourism production, even though is still not enough. v Putting together “Quit for Life” script with the believe to sensitize general public especially the youth about the effects of tobacco smoking. v Part of President concert performers 
Founding and Executive Director Edward M. Moroka, is actively involved in the theatre both as an Actor, Director, Producer, Writer. The following is his achievements. ü Leader of the seven man crew that represented Botswana during International Children’s Theatre Festival Harare Zimbabwe 2001. ü Founding member of the STOP SMOKING SUPPORT GROUP coordinated by the Ministry of health under Environmental Health Unit established 2002 and was appointed the chairman of the association. ü He scripted, performed and directed productions such as, A day before execution, Flush & Wipe (SHE Solutions), Journey to Success (for Achap), A re chencheng (for Botswana Police Service), Thari ya Sechaba (for Five Roses), Tip Offs and Letsema both for Debswana, My Line (BTC), Quit for Life Anti Tobacco Network and Stop Smoking Support Group etc. ü Mr. Moroka’s experience and hard-work has worked as he has won two awards: Botswana National Youth Service Awards (Performing Artists category 2007) and Vision 2016 award An Educated Informed Nation Award 2007. ü Engaged to judge in 2011 Bota Drama Festival ( Gaborone, Masunga and Francistown) THE WRITER Edward Moroka is a discipline hardworking and dedicated artists who does not give up easily is actively involved in the theatre both as an actor, producer, and writer. He started his career as performing artist skills way back in 1996 with Magosi Dedicated Artists and attended a number of theatre workshops. In 1999-2002 he joined Peo Youth Club and learn and number of skills such as Theatre for Development skills, Directing Skills, Acting Skills, Play Making Skills. Edward is the founding member of Stop Smoking Support Group coordinated by Ministry of Health under Environmental Health Unit that they establish in 2002 and he has been appointed the Chairman of the association since then. In 2004 he started Tlhwa-A-Tsebe Theatre Investment with the aim of using Theatrical Drama as a means of educational for development in both urban and rural areas. He have performed, written and directed a number of productions such as A Day Before Execution Am Sorry President, Is It A Mini Skirt, Flush and Wipe, Tip Offs, Thari ya Sechaba, The Journey to Success and etc. 2008 he started Mandy Promotions an artist’s agent and performing artists guru that works closely with Tlhwa-A-Tsebe Theatre Investment and other community based groups and theatre companies. As professional artists my dream is to assist the youth, underprivileged and talented artists to remember their heritage to become reality. Welcome to Botswana as a concept created to keep the underprivileged and unemployed youth and artists from the streets and give them a chance to live a dream. This dream will become a reality for many of the Welcome to Botswana cast members . My artistic achievements include the crew leader when represent Botswana during International Theatre Festival with The Last on The List production held at Zimbabwe Harare 2001.
