Emmanuel ‘’King Jarvelah’’ Modukanele, Thato Flexx Modukanele, Tumelo Zwai $ Bogatsu,Boitshepo Asonic William, Thabo Mtazzo Kesebonye, joined their rare talent to form a group, Amanandos. The group is characterised by creative, ecstatic, professional, young- black and gifted proud Batswana boys who eat, live, sleep,dream and think dance. They are a group of trend setters with unique peri peri dance moves sprinkled with a few touches from other genres of dance such as hip hop,kwasa-kwasa, latin, salsa, pantsula and our very own traditional dance.
In 2007, the group raised a bar in kwaito dance after winning the My African Dream teen category.
NANDOLAND AKHADEMIE
Experience and exposure from My African Dream competition gave birth to Nandoland Akhademie in 2008. The primary initiative of this forum was to help other young talented Batswana with a passion for dance to experience the magic of arts. Amanandos formed an all girls group, Bonandosita and all boys group called Candy, which were the first groups to benefit from this forum. Both groups were choreographed and entered into M.A.D teens category 2008. They went all the way to the finals and Bonandosita won by viewer’s choice while Candy scooped judges’ choice. In 2010, Amanandos also choreographed Chilli rocks who went all the way to the semi final (top 15).
The akhademie also worked with other local groups such as Jozi victims, Black GIMS, and Box 14, just to mention a few. Now the initiative of the Akhademie has changed. Starting from his year the Akhademie will be signing other dancers, choreographing them different genres so as to help grow the entertainment industry especially in the dance sector. The Akhademie will also help ease other experienced artists’ lives, groups signed under the Akhademie will be accessible to those artists for hire when shooting videos, as back up dancers or for cooperate events (i.e. opening events).
