DANIJEL TARIC

THEN......

AND NOW

My name is Danijel Taric. I was born on the 16th November 1995 in Serbia with a dream. I used to sing and dance around the house as soon as I learnt to speak. I love singing as I can express the mood I am feeling. I started taking singing to the next level when I entered My African Dream at the age of 7 in 2003 singing a song by Lou Bega called I got a girl. I surprisingly was not nervous on a stage with people watching me. That year I made it to the semi-finals. I was disappointed but determined to try again and the next year in 2004. I achieved runner up singing a duet song in Zulu by Malaika called “Mtlaopelamandla” with a girl named Seneo Perry. I was only 8 and I was so proud of myself. That year the guest performer was PJ Powers and had a great time meeting her and singing with her and the cast.  Then in 2005 I entered a show at my school, Westwood International School, called Mini-Idols. I sang a song by The Rasmus called “In the Shadows”. I was the youngest performer that entered and I won around very talented singers. I held my fingers crossed the whole time as I waited for the results. I was awarded a top of the range cellphone as a prize for winning. I began singing at restaurants and events whenever there was a microphone and stage available. In 2008 I sang at the My African Dream Grand Finale as a guest performer and sang along with the cast and the popular group “NKD”. The next year In 2009 I entered again My African Dream again. This time I sang a song by Alexander Rybak called “Fairytale”. I got runner-up from a national vote and got a chance to meet the one and only Mara Louw and sing with her along with wonderful and talented contestants. Currently this year I have achieved singing at Moonga Kapambwe’s concert with a song by Phil Collins Called “You can’t hurry love”. I enjoy singing and I thank family, friends and fans that helped me follow my ongoing dream.
