Vivien Dakpo

Since I first entered M.A.D, life has been very interesting indeed. The first two years or so were a whirlwind and I got a taste of the celebrity life (well on a small scale but huge for me). People kept coming to me and asking me to sing "Black Velvet" or asking for pointers on performing and so on. Mandi Mash took me under her wing because she believed in me and together we did a lot of singing gigs around Gaborone. I sang in hotel restaurants, at weddings and corporate funtions. It was fabulous!

As great as all this was, I think the biggest thing I took away from my experience with M.A.D was a desire to do things with execllence, regardless of how small the activity is. The organisers never failed to emphasize the importance of 100% commitment and hard work and that has stuck with me throughout the years. I haven't had to performe on stage in a while but the lessons learned serve me well in my workplace and many can testify that my love for music has not faded.
