Public Notice 2010 CONSTITUENCY The Department of Arts and Culture with effect from 20th January 2010 will be running Constituency Art Competitions countrywide. The Department will undertake this programme in collaboration with the District Commissioners and District Officers. This is an empowerment strategy for the out of school youth. a) The initiative will start with the following three categories: · Drama · Traditional Song and Dance · Dikhwaere b) The competitions will be held in three cycles as follows · First cycle - 20/01/2010 to 04/04/2010 · Second cycle - 03/05/2010 to 30/07/2010 · Third cycle - 30/08/2010 to 27/11/2010 c) The competitions will start at ward level and the winners will then compete at constituency level. The prize money for each category will be as follows · Ward Level - First Prize - P3000.00 - Second Prize - P1000.00 · Constituency Level - First Prize - P5000.00 - Second Prize - P3000.00 d) Ground Rules i. Only OUT OF SCHOOL YOUTH groups are allowed to register for this competition. ii. Groups are not allowed to use Primary and Secondary School students. iii. No Institutional groups will be allowed to enter the competition. iv. Any Artists found drinking alcohol or carrying any drug substances during the competitions will be disqualified. v. Groups can only participate and register in one category. vi. Groups registering for these competitions must attach copies of IDs for all participating members of the group. The maximum age for these competitions will be 35 years. e) All interested groups should consult with the District Commissioners / District Officers in your area for further information and clarity.
